Low-fare carriers call for United cuts
Frontier Airlines is one of four low-fare carriers that want United Airlines to cut back on its flights and pull out of some cities before it secures a $1.6 billion federal loan guarantee.

Continental and American Airlines Raised Fuel Surcharges
Continental Airlines has raised fuel sur charges from $10 USD each way to $15 USD each way for travel in the U.S., and between the U.S. and Canada.

American Airlines joined Continental yesterday in raising fuel surcharges on certain tickets to $15 each way from $10 each way to offset higher jet fuel prices.

United Implements Further Schedule Reductions At O'Hare this Summer
April 21, 2004- United Airlines said that it will further reduce its flight schedule at O'Hare during peak hours by an additional 2.5 % between June 10 and October 30, 2004, in cooperation with the Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

United Airlines Announces Double Miles on Flights Between New York and San Francisco, Dallas Fort Worth and San Francisco, and Dallas Fort Worth and Los Angeles
April 13, 2004 - United Airlines announced that Mileage Plus members traveling between New York (JFK) and San Francisco (SFO), Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and San Francisco (SFO), and Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) and Los Angeles (LAX) will receive double miles for travel between April 16 and May 31, 2004 (double miles equals flight miles times two). Qualifying flights are available for booking immediately.

US Airways Offers Special Web-based Envoy Class Fares
April 22, 2004 -- US Airways is offering a special Web-based fare sale for Envoy Class travel to Dublin, Glasgow and Shannon this summer, with $999* fares each way to Glasgow and Shannon, and $1099* each way to Dublin.

Under this sale, tickets must be purchased within 24 hours of making the original reservation, for travel June 1-Aug. 31, 2004.

America West Announces Additional Nonstop Service Between Phoenix and Toronto

America West Airlines Initiates New Service Between Its Las Vegas Hub and Burbank, Calif.
April 23 -- America West Airlines (NYSE: AWA), the nation's second largest low-fare airline, initiated new service today between its Las Vegas hub and Burbank, Calif. The new nonstop, roundtrip flight will kick off with coach fares as low as $29* one way. This fare requires a 21-day advance purchase and is good for travel through June 9, 2004. Beginning July 23, 2004, the airline will increase service between these two cities by adding a second nonstop, roundtrip flight. Delta Connection Carrier Comair to Begin Non-Stop Jet service between Lexington, Ky., and Washington, D.C.

April 19 -- Vanguard Car Rental USA, parent of the National and Alamo car rental brands, today rolled out an enhanced version of Emerald Club, the frequent-renter program for National customers.

Targeting road warriors, Emerald Club was the car rental industry's first frequent-renter program when it was introduced in 1987. It offered business customers paperless transactions and allowed them to choose their rental cars off the lot.
