United Increased Fuel Surcharge
May 26 -- United Airlines today increased the fuel surcharge on most passenger tickets $5 each way to $15 just days after a Continental Airlines-led fare hike collapsed. The increase is effective immediately. A more modest fare increase led by Southwest Airlines earlier this week has held.

United Airlines Offers Travel Tips and Expands Travel Options for Customers
May 27 -- With the Memorial Day holiday kicking off the summer travel season, United Airlines is reminding its customers of some helpful travel tips to make their travel experience easier. The carrier also is further expanding travelers' destination options by adding some new international and U.S.-domestic routes.

US Airways - New GoFirst Fares
May 24, 2004 -- US Airways today unveiled GoFirst fares, the airline’s simplified, low premium-cabin fares, which are now available for travel in First Class to the fourteen initial GoFares markets from Philadelphia.

American Airlines Cargo Division Announces Increase in Fuel Surcharge
May 27 -- American Airlines Cargo Division announced today an increase in its fuel surcharge to $0.25/kg for most U.S.-origin international shipments and $0.10/lb for U.S. domestic shipments, effective June 14, 2004.

American Airlines Reminds Passengers About Limits on Baggage and Boxes During the Summer Season
May 27 -- Summer is fast approaching, and American Airlines and regional carrier, American Eagle, remind passengers about the box and bag embargo on flights to certain cities from June 12 through Aug. 15, 2004.

Air France will be affected by terminal closure but will move forward
May 27 -- Air France Chairman and CEO Jean-Cyril Spinetta said the closure of Terminal 2E at Paris Charles de Gaulle will result in additional costs for the airline but will not affect the objectives set forth in its current FY04-05 plans.

Delta Expands Interline Electronic Ticketing
May 26 – Delta Air Lines (NYSE:DAL) begins interline electronic ticketing with Hawaiian Airlines and ATA Airlines. This implementation is another step toward reaching the goal of 100 percent electronic ticketing by the end of 2004. Today, more than 90 percent of Delta customers worldwide take advantage of electronic ticketing (ET).

NWA Cargo Announces Additional Increase In Fuel Surcharge For International Shipments
May 27 -- Effective June 16, the surcharge will increase to 25 cents per kilogram from 20 cents for most U.S.-origin international shipments only. The fuel surcharge will be adjusted for most non-U.S. origin shipments unless it is not permitted for regulatory reasons. Any applicable surcharge will be applied in the local currency equivalent.

U.S. Warns of Heightened Security Concerns Over Summer
U.S. Attorney General John D. Ashcroft and FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III held a joint news conference yesterday afternoon that has been widely reported. The government heightened public awareness against terrorist threats and asked for assistance in locating several specific individuals believed to be involved in planning for major disruptions planned over the summer.
