United Airlines Revises Ticket Policies for Travel Affected by Hurricane Ivan
Sep 14 – United Airlines today has revised its ticketing policies for its customers with travel plans to and from destinations likely to be affected by Hurricane Ivan. Effective immediately, these policies apply to all customers ticketed on or before September 9, 2004, for travel through September 18, 2004, for Florida, and customers ticketed on or before September 14, 2004 for travel through September 18, 2004, for New Orleans on any United, United Express, Ted or United code-share flight. To make these changes, passengers must call United’s reservations line at 1-800-241-6522 by 11:59 p.m. on their original travel date.
United Express to Offer New Nonstop Service From Chicago to Ottawa
Sep 10— United Airlines today announced that United Express will introduce three daily nonstop roundtrip flights between Chicago (ORD) and Ottawa (YOW), Ontario, Canada. The flights open for sale today, with service beginning Oct. 31, 2004.
United Airlines to Code Share with TAP Air Portugal
Sep 9 - United Airlines has signed a code-share agreement with TAP Air Portugal that will provide customers of each airline with improved access to flights on both carriers. This new code-share service will begin by second-quarter 2005. From its hub in Lisbon, TAP flies daily to 41 destinations in 25 countries in Europe, Africa and Central, North and South America.

US Airways Filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy
Sep 12 -- US Airways Group, Inc. (Nasdaq: UAIR) today announced that the Company and certain of its subsidiaries filed voluntary petitions for reorganization under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. Delta Pilots Want Retirement Deal
Sep 15 -- Delta Air Lines pilots union on Tuesday ordered its negotiators to strike a deal with the carrier to address the possible retirement of a large number of pilots, which could lead to grounded flights and push Delta towards bankruptcy.
America West Announces Refinanced Term Loan
Sept. 15 -- America West Airlines (NYSE: AWA), a wholly owned subsidiary of America West Holdings Corporation, today announced it has entered into an agreement to refinance its existing term loan with Mizuho Corporate Bank, Ltd. and certain other lenders. The airline, which entered into the new term loan agreements with General Electric Capital Corporation (GECC) on Sept. 10, 2004, raised $111 million in the transaction, of which approximately $77 million was used to repay in full its existing term loan and to pay certain costs associated with the transaction. The remaining proceeds, approximately $34 million, will be used for general corporate purposes. The airline also filed additional information about these new term loans on Form 8-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

New Orleans is served by the City of New Orleans daily to and from Chicago, the Crescent daily to and from New York City and the three-days-weekly Sunset Limited to and from Los Angeles and Orlando.
