America West Announces New Boarding Pass Policy
America West Airlines announced today that effective Oct. 1, all passengers must obtain boarding passes prior to proceeding to airport gate areas. The airline is implementing the policy in compliance with an industry-wide Transportation Security Administration (TSA) directive that calls for the measure to be in place by mid-October. Connecting passengers who require a boarding pass - such as OA connects - will still be able to check in and obtain boarding passes at the gate.

Effective October 6, 2004, America West will implement a $5 fee for tickets purchased through the airline’s reservation centers and a $10 fee for tickets issued at airport and city ticket offices. The fees do not apply to any tickets purchased or redeemed through www.americawest.com.
 
US Airways New Zone Boarding
All flights on US Airways and the US Airways Express carriers will be boarded by zone. US Airways Shuttle flights between Washington Reagan National, Boston Logan and New York LaGuardia Airports will continue to board by row number. Preferred members still receive Preferred Boarding privileges.
