For The US Airways DCA Shuttle Ticket
Counter
March 14, 2005 -- The US Airways Shuttle
ticket counter, an expanded TSA Security
Checkpoint, and a US Airways Priority
Security lane all have been opened for
business as of Monday, March 14, at Washington
Reagan National Airport's North Pier.
The US Airways Shuttle
ticket counter is relocated back to the
Departure Level. The ticket counter, which
was moved to accommodate an expansion
of the North Pier security checkpoint,
now is located across the hall from Legal
Sea Foods, one level down from the main
US Airways ticket counter.
This will be a full-service
ticket counter for Shuttle customers departing
Washington. Customers can check-in, purchase
tickets and change flights. Kiosks also
are available at the Shuttle ticket counter
for customers without checked bags.
The expanded TSA Security
Checkpoint and US Airways Priority Security
lane was opened on March 14. As with other
US Airways airports with Priority Security
lanes, the Priority lane is available
during peak travel times for First Class
and Envoy Class customers, as well as
Dividend Miles Preferred and Star Gold
members.
As an added benefit,
Washington customers holding a confirmed
boarding pass for the next available Shuttle
departure to Boston or New York also may
access the secured gate area through the
Priority lane. This provides the same
timesavings benefit for our Shuttle customers
that they enjoy in Boston and New York's
LaGuardia Airport, both of which accommodate
Shuttle customers through a separate security
checkpoint.

The
dark side of Europe’s low-fare airlines.
Are they too cheap for anyone’s
good?
Feb. 25, 2005 -- March issue, Budget Travel
magazine - By now we’ve all heard
about the amazing deals on Europe’s
low-fare carriers. Industry leader Ryanair
even goes so far as to occasionally offer
seats for free (passengers pay only the
flight taxes and service charges, generally
$25 and up each way). At this point there
are around 60 upstarts crisscrossing the
Continent, many with names that don’t
exactly instill confidence in the average
American, such as Geneva-based Flybaboo.
Combine that with the recent failures
of JetGreen, Duo, JetMagic, Volareweb.com,
and V Bird, and many travelers are uneasy
about booking with a low-fare carrier,
no matter how cheap it comes. More
