EXPANDED
SECURITY CHECKPOINT FEATURING US AIRWAYS
PRIORITY QUEUE AND SHUTTLE TICKET
COUNTER NOW OPEN AT REAGAN NATIONAL
March 17, 2005 --
An expanded Transportation Security
Administration (TSA) Security Checkpoint
and a US Airways priority queue line
is now open at Ronald Reagan Washington
National Airport. Additionally, the
full-service US Airways Shuttle ticket
counter has been relocated back to
the Departure Level at Reagan National’s
North Pier, beginning this week.
The TSA Security
Checkpoint has expanded from four
to six lanes, which will assist in
reducing wait times for customers
during peak travel periods. As with
other airports with US Airways priority
queue lines, the queue is available
during peak travel times for First
Class and Envoy Class customers, as
well as Dividend Miles Preferred and
Star Gold members.
Washington customers
holding confirmed boarding passes
for the next available Shuttle departure
to Boston or New York also may use
the priority queue line. This provides
the same timesaving benefit for Shuttle
customers as in Boston and New York’s
LaGuardia Airport.
The ticket counter,
which was moved on Dec. 14, 2004,
as part of a project by the Metropolitan
Washington Airports Authority to accommodate
an expansion of the North Pier security
checkpoint, now is located one level
down from the main US Airways ticket
counter, and adjacent to the Baggage
Claim Level escalators.
The full-service
ticket counter for Shuttle customers
departing Washington includes full
check-in, ticket purchase and flight
change services. Kiosks also are available
at the Departure-Level Shuttle ticket
counter for customers without checked
bags.
