Trains offers BA passengers free rail travel
Jan. 26, 2007 - Inter-city rail operator Virgin Trains is to make
a concerted effort to poach airline travellers if next week's planned
strike by British Airways cabin crew - expected to cause major disruption
- goes ahead.

Jan. 24, 2007 - A new rule requiring U.S. airline passengers to
show a passport upon their return from Mexico, Canada or the Caribbean
took effect Tuesday, with few reports of stranded travelers.

Fare Index Reaches Highest
Jan. 24, 2007 - The Air Travel Price Index (ATPI) for the third
quarter of 2006 reached the highest third- quarter level recorded
in the 11-year period measured by the index, 7.5 percent higher
than the previous third quarter high in 2005, the U.S. Department
of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS)
reported Wednesday (January 24)

delays set record in 2006
Jan. 25, 2007 - Airline delays increased sharply last year to record
highs because of a rash of bad weather starting in the fall that
shut airports and stranded thousands of passengers, according to
federal data obtained by USA TODAY.

system on its new 787 "Dreamliner," about eight months

the United States since the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks has cost the
country more than $15 billion (U.S.) in lost taxes and nearly 200,000
