airlines begin to increase staff again
Apr 20, 2007- U.S. airline employment increased in February
from a year earlier, the first monthly increase in more than
two years and a sign that the industry may have reached its
low point for staffing.

Reports: Travel Price Index (TPI) Increased 2.8 Percent in
March
Apr 20, 2007- The Travel Price Index (TPI) for the month of
March 2007 rose 2.8 percent compared to March 2006. Gasoline
prices increased 7.2 percent from one year ago. Lodging prices
were up 1.1 percent compared to March 2006 and 2.3 percent
from last month. Airfares increased 1.8 percent against twelve
months earlier and 1.5 percent from previous month. The Consumer
Price Index, or CPI-U, was up 2.8 percent from March 2006.

Apr 20, 2007 - Delta Air Lines is partnering with The Conservation
Fund to become the first U.S. airline to help its customers
give back to the environment by buying trees to help offset
carbon emissions associated with air travel.
New
passenger kiosks at Toronto Pearson International Airport
Apr 19, 2007 - Canada’s busiest airport has installed
advanced self-service check-in kiosks for U.S.-bound travelers
departing from Terminal 1. The Toronto Pearson International
Airport will install a total of 92 new common-use (CUSS) kiosks
to streamline its trans-border passenger operations.

responsibility headlines at business travel manager’s
seminar in Germany
Apr 20, 2007- Germany will play host this year to an important
corporate responsibility educational event in Frankfurt on
June 12. The half-day seminar, intended for business travel
managers, is jointly organized by VDR, the Business Travel
Association of Germany and the Association of Corporate Travel
