TIA Reports: Travel Price Index (TPI) Increased 2.8 Percent in March
Apr 20, 2007- The Travel Price Index (TPI) for the month of March 2007 rose 2.8 percent compared to March 2006. Gasoline prices increased 7.2 percent from one year ago. Lodging prices were up 1.1 percent compared to March 2006 and 2.3 percent from last month. Airfares increased 1.8 percent against twelve months earlier and 1.5 percent from previous month. The Consumer Price Index, or CPI-U, was up 2.8 percent from March 2006.
