Getting The Most From Travel-On

Using Premium Line To Get Through Security

Many airports in the US (including Washington Dulles) have expedited security lines for "Premium" passengers. This includes, but is not limited to, First Class ticketed passengers, business class passengers, and those travelers who have reached a certain status in their frequent flyer programs. For example, any United Mileage Plus member with the following status : Premier Associate, Premier, Premier Executive, 1K, and Global Services, are eligible to use the expedited security lines at designated airports.

The next time you travel, ask the airline counter agent if there is a Premium Passenger security checkpoint at your airport. They can tell you if your ticket type or airline mileage status entitles you to use this time saving service. You may also be able to get this information when you check-in online for your flight.
