Holiday Travel Tips

Flying over the holidays doesn’t have to be stressful. A little preparation—and paying attention to the details—can help make your trip as easy as pie.

Keep the following information handy in case problem arises

  • A list of phone numbers for your airline (and its partner carriers),
  • Phone number of your travel agency, hotel and rental car agency,
  • Phone number of the person who dropped you off (in case they need to come back and get you), and
  • Phone number of the person picking you up at your destination.
  • Information on a schedule of alternate flights which will come in handy if your flight is canceled and you need to tweak your plans.

New Passport Rules Are About To Get Even Stricter
Dec. 7. 2007 - Starting Jan. 31, adult travelers re-entering the USA by land or via ferry or small boat must carry either a passport or a government-issued photo ID plus proof of citizenship such as a birth or naturalization certificate. Children 18 and younger need only proof of citizenship. Cruise passengers are officially exempt, though cruise lines encourage passport use and already require photo ID and proof of citizenship.
