$29 Airfares? Now You See It - Now Your Don't

Airlines are doing everything they can to fill their planes. Did you know that they constantly monitor reservations activity and manipulate prices based on how fast the plane is filling up or whether ticket sales are slow? Recently airlines are coming out with many lower fares that are terrific deals but only good on individual flights and not part of a formal airfare sale. Once they see that ticket sales are up and the plane is filling, they quickly remove that great deal. Some super low fares may only be around for a day or two.

Today, even without these unbelievably low airfares popping up, travel is general priced at a bargain. Enterprises need travel in order to maintain and grow the business, and this is the best time to take care of business with these lower airfares.

When are you more likely to see these drastically lower fares? In general, on late morning and early afternoon flights. Flights that are early in the morning or late in the afternoon are most popular and not as likely to be drastically reduced.  And “fare gurus” will tell you that the best days to book your reservations when you are likely to see these lower fares are Tuesday and Wednesday.

Travel-On utilizes applications that provide analysis of which time of day and day of week will most likely result in the lowest fares. This is particularly useful when planning meetings or groups. Talk to your Travel-On account manager to learn more.

Are You Ready for August 15th?

Have you updated your profile lately?

August 15th is the start date for the new TSA regulations requiring all domestic reservations to include the traveler's full name, date of birth, and gender.

So that your travelers aren't delayed unnecessarily at the airport, Travel-On has begun the process of reviewing all existing reservations to ensure that the required information is included. Where the data is not available from the profile the agents will contact the traveler for it directly. Please help us to help your travelers as expeditiously as possible by encouraging everyone to update their traveler profiles immediately.

Profiles must have:

  • Full name as it appears on the government ID presented to security at the airport (i.e. James William Smith)
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender

Will U.S. Airlines Need a Bailout, Too?
Is there a federal bailout coming for U.S. airlines? For a long time, I’ve thought this idea was beyond far-fetched, with about as much basis in reality as Uncle Sam extending funds to the equally plagued news media. Airlines have been adamant that they don’t want any such rescue, and it would be well-nigh impossible to muster sympathy from a bailout-weary public tired of shoddy airline service. Everyone hates this idea.
