two hours out in the desert, connected to civilization
by a high-speed rail link that will cut through the mountains.

Plane’ that saves 9,500 gallons of fuel per year
Southwest Airlines has announced the world’s first “green
plane,” a Boeing 737-700 that’s 472 lbs. lighter
than a conventional model and saves 9,500 gallons of jet
fuel per year.

Lufthansa said the service, known as FlyNet, will be available
starting in mid-2010. The Cologne-based airline said it
