What’s
Your Carbon Footprint?
Eco-friendly. Green. Low impact. Call it what you
like; what it all boils down to is the idea that we
all have an individual and business responsibility
to engage in sound environmental stewardship practices.
In addition to our own internal programs and initiatives
to minimize the environmental impact of our business,
Travel-On also supports our clients’ green
policies in a variety of ways. One of the most popular
is a series of carbon reports estimating the emissions
generated:
- Air CO2 Emissions - during a flight
- Alternate Car CO2 Emissions - if the traveler
chose to travel by car instead of airplane
- Alternate Rail CO2 Emissions - if the traveler
chose to travel by train instead of airplane
- Car Rental CO2 Emissions – for each rental
car driven
- Hotel Booking CO2 Emissions - for each booked
hotel night
These reports utilize proprietary algorithms from
several carbon reporting companies (TerraPass, Greenboard
Technology, and The CarbonNeutral Company) which are
applied to your travel data to produce estimates of
the carbon output. Data is also available for export
to a carbon calculation firm for more comprehensive
analysis.
Carbon management is increasingly part of the corporate
strategy. Often over 25% of a company’s carbon
footprint can be attributed to travel. Reducing those
emissions makes good business sense – for the
climate, for the balance sheet, and for reputation.
Please contact your account manager to
request your one-time or on-going carbon reports.

to your destination. But that simple definition belies
the complex rules and restrictions hiding in the fine
print. You're better off thinking of your ticket as
a contract, thick with legalese and subtitles, between
you and your airline. Read
