Secure Flight Program in Effect for Flights Coming Into the US

The Secure Flight Program which went into effect last year on domestic airlines has now expanded to include international airlines. This means they will require full name, DOB and gender to be included on all new ticketed reservations no later than 72 hours prior to departure.

Reservations missing this information will not be eligible for online check-in and printing your boarding in advance. As with the domestic program, international carriers are coming on board one-by-one. Icelandair and British Airways have notified us of their implementation dates which are June 15 and July 1 respectively.

Travel-On has been in compliance with providing this information to the airlines from its inception last year.

If you are traveling internationally, you might want to know what an Apostile is.

Did you know that official documents from the US are not valid in other countries unless they have been authenticated? Document authentication involves the documents being authenticated by the US Government and being legalized by the consulate of the country that you are traveling to. If you will need these documents in multiple countries, then you must legalize them with the consulate of each country that you will be traveling to. As you can probably tell by now, the document authentication process can involve multiple government agencies and consulates.

An Apostille is an official state-issued stamp or attachment to any public or private document that makes the document legal for use in any country that has signed the Hague Convention on Documents.
