to be informed of flight cancellations and changes instantly
How
do you know that your airline gate has changed? Or
that there is a pending airline strike? Or even that
an earthquake in one area is delaying travel in another
area? Or what to do about that ash cloud?

Travel
surge expected for July 4 weekend
A surge in Fourth of July travel is expected this
weekend compared to last year's slump, driven by signs
of life in the economy, according to the motorist
group AAA. But the impact of the Gulf oil spill on

Airlines
waive fees for travel in hurricane's path
Airlines
roll out policy waivers for travelers affected by
the storm. If you have travel plans that could be
impacted, check with your airline for ticket-change
guidelines.
Travel-On
is in the process of identifying those travelers
whose travel plans may be affected by the hurricane.
The impacted travelers will be notified by Travel-On
agents in order to make alternate arrangements. We

Passport
fees are going up July 13
Get
that expiring passport renewed quickly: Charges for
U.S. passports and visas for foreigners will rise
July 13, the U.S. Department of State says.
That
means the cost of a passport for an adult will go
from $100 to $135, including a $25 administrative
fee. Those under 16 will pay $105 with the fee, up

Cabin
crew delays BA strike vote over new offer
The union representing
British Airways cabin crews says a new ballot on strike
action is being postponed so its members can consider
an offer from the airline.

that the vote, which had been scheduled to begin Tuesday,

York passes ban on short-term apartment rentals
For
thrifty tourists, the days of "living like a
New Yawker" - and bypassing steep Manhattan hotel
rates - could be coming to an end.
The
New York Assembly passed a bill Thursday that, by
banning rentals of less than 30 days, makes operating
a residential apartment as a transient hotel illegal
in New York City. The legislation, already approved
by the state Senate, now goes to Gov. David Paterson

pledges $6 standing-room-only fares, but some smell a hoax
