Is There A Local Organization I Can Join To Learn More About Travel Management?Yes! There are many local chapters of the Global Business Travel Association. In the Washington DC area both Northern Virginia and the Baltimore/Washington have active local chapters. Members include corporate travel directors and managers as well as leading travel industry suppliers. The sales-free environment focuses on fostering a better understand of emerging travel management practices, continuing education, and providing a forum for the constructive exchange of information and ideas among members. Each local chapter hold 6-9 lunch meetings per year with each meeting featuring a speaker and presentation on a hot topic of interest to travel managers. Recent topics have including “duty of care”, strategic meetings management, and booking/expense integration.
