The airline changed my flight schedule after I purchased my ticket - must I accept the change?Airlines make hundreds of schedule changes each day as they juggle their fleets. The vast majority of changes are just a few minutes one way or the other and are of little consequence. Occasionally though a schedule change may be several hours. Depending on your plans, this could cause you to be late for a meeting, miss your cruise sailing, or otherwise cause a specific inconvenience. When this is the case the airline will generally permit you the courtesy of selecting another flight. If an airline schedule change is unacceptable for your plans, please advise your agent who can work with the airline to find the best available solution. Did you know that if you are involuntarily bumped from a flight you are entitled to double the ticket price up to $650 if the airline can get you to your destination within 2 hours domestically or 4 hours internationally, and four times the ticket price up to $1300 if the delay is longer? But prices won't jump as much as they did between 2010 and 2011, the forecast said. Business class airfares are expected to rise the most next year.
