Colombia - Heavy Rains Cause Localized Flooding in Bogota

Unusually heavy seasonal rainfall is causing flooding in Bogota, prompting authorities to declare a state of emergency. The Bogota River has breached its causeway, reaching record levels and displacing some 10,000 people in southwestern parts of the city. The metropolitan area's sewage system has also been disrupted. Expect transportation and commercial disruptions.

Portugal - TAP Portugal Pilot Strikes

Pilots of state-owned TAP Air Portugal plan to strike Dec. 9-12 and Jan. 3-6 to protest the lack of participation they have been given in the privatization of the company. The strike, if not averted, is likely to cause significant flight cancellations and delays.
