Spain – Strikes July 4th

Spanish labor unions representing more than 3,500 ground handling workers has called for an indefinite strike at several airports across the country, beginning July 4. Strikes are expected at the following airports:

• Barcelona-El Prat (BCN): Fridays, 0800-1000 and 1900-2100
• Bilbao (BIO): Mondays, 1100-1300 and 1700-1900
• Gran Canaria (LPA): Wednesdays, 0900-1100 and 1600-1800
• Madrid-Barajas (MAD): Sundays, 1200-1400 and 2000-2200
• Seville (SVQ): Thursdays, 1200-1600 and 1900-2100
• North Tenerife (TFN): Mondays, 1300-1700
• South Tenerife (TFS): Fridays, 1000-1200 and 1600-1800

Unless averted, the labor action will likely result in delays at security checkpoints and ground handling disruptions for passenger and cargo flights.
