Turkey – Rally in Ankara

Four major labor organizations plan to stage a mass rally at Sihhiye Square in central Ankara on Oct. 10. The gathering has the potential to draw very large numbers of participants. Authorities will almost certainly deploy robust security in and around Sihhiye Square beginning at least a few hours ahead of the event. Significant traffic congestion is likely. While the rally will likely remain peaceful, clashes between demonstrators and police cannot be completely ruled out.
