Starting this month US citizens will be permitted to apply directly to TSA Pre-Check instead of being invited to join through an airline frequent flyer membership or Global Entry. The cost is $85 for 5 years and the first enrollment centers will be at Dulles and Indianapolis. The qualifications &#8211; and disqualifications &#8211; remain the same. If approved, in 2-3 weeks you will receive a letter in the mail containing a &#8220;known traveler&#8221; number. Be sure to enter that number in your Travel-On profile as well as in all of your frequent flyer profiles.
