Strong winds and heavy rainfall will begin affecting eastern Louisiana and other parts of the Gulf Coast eastward to Panama City, Florida, many hours before the system crosses the coast. The storm could produce more than 6 inches of rain in some areas, and flash flooding is likely in parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida. Although the system is not particularly powerful, the new moon should intensify the effects of coastal flooding. Tornadoes are also possible in areas north and east of the center of circulation.
