Airways Adds In-flight Email, Instant Messaging and More with Verizon
Airfone Jetconnect
Jan. 29 -- US Airways announced today that Verizon Airfone JetConnectSM
service will be available on many of its domestic routes beginning
Feb. 1, 2004. US Airways passengers will now have inflight access
to e-mail, instant messaging, text messaging, games, news, sports,
weather and more.
Delta,
Continental, Northwest to Expand Codeshare Flights to Latin American,
the Caribbean, Canadian Destinations
Jan 29 -- Delta Air Lines, Continental Airlines, and Northwest Airlines
announced the expansion of codeshare service for customers traveling
between the United States and 11 destinations in Latin America,
the Caribbean and Canada.

Airlines to Offer Complimentary Wireless Internet Access In Presidents
Clubs
Jan 26 -- Continental is expanding the number of its Presidents
Clubs offering wireless Internet access, with all 28 clubs Wi-Fi-enabled
by the end of 2004. The airline currently offers the service at
its five Presidents Clubs at Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport,
three at Newark Liberty International, and one at Cleveland Hopkins
International.
Delta
Air Lines' Self-Service Kiosks Now Available to Continental and
Northwest Codeshare Customers
Jan 22 -- Customers who hold an interline electronic ticket originating
on Delta-operated flights but connecting to other airline flights
can now check in using Delta’s self-service kiosks. Previously
these passengers had to visit an agent to check in. This includes
both Continental and Northwest codeshare customers as well as customers
connecting to any of Delta’s other interline ticketing partners.

Air Lines Launches Zone Boarding
On Jan. 21, Delta replaces customer boarding by rows on U.S. flights,
excluding Delta Connection and Delta Shuttle, with a new staggered
zone boarding procedure. Zone boarding minimizes aisle congestion
by replacing the current process of boarding by rows with boarding
by staggered zones.

Flu Fact Sheet
January 2004 -- This Fact Sheet alerts Americans to the rapid spread
of the H5N1 Avian flu strain across Asia A number of countries have
reported incidences of Avian flu, commonly referred to as bird flu.
Thailand and Vietnam have reported several bird-human transmissions
of the Avian flu thought to have been caused by individuals' contact
with infected poultry populations. Although several deaths from
the Avian flu have been reported, there has been no known human-human
transmission of the virus. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
(CDC) and the World Health Organization (WHO) are concerned about
the potential for human-human transmission of this highly pathogenic
flu strain.

West Introduces In-flight Cafe
America West Airlines will offer meals and snacks priced from $2
to $7 on several routes beginning January 15, 2004. By May 1, 2004,
the In-Flight Café will be available on all America West
flights greater than three hours in length that depart between 6
a.m. and 7:30 p.m.

Airways Weather Disruptions
Jan 29 -- Due to continued adverse weather conditions today, many
British Airways services have been disrupted. Customers travelling
today are strongly advised to check the status of their flight before
travelling to the airport. Customers booked to travel on cancelled
or delayed services may:
- Rebook onto the next available service in the same cabin.
- Rebooked travel must commence by 31 March 2004.
- Rebook onto another British Airways service with any additional
fare being at the customer's own expense.
- Obtain a refund back to the original form of payment.
